It’s almost a year since we opened on May 17th 2006! And what a year! We have thoroughly enjoyed it, building a business we believe in and hearing very positive feedback. As well as the shop, stocked with many products from exclusive suppliers, we opened Caffe Gusto late last year and launched our outside catering service a few weeks later. We have a number of exciting new things coming up and hope that you will continue to support us. Thank you to all our regular customers for your support, enthusiasm and good company.
Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th May - Cheltenham Jazz Fringe Festival
We will be hosting two live jazz events outside the shop so you can enjoy some music whilst shopping or enjoying refreshments. The bands will be with us from 2.30-4.30pm on Saturday and 12-2.30pm on the Sunday.
Friday 11th May - Una Serata di Gusto - An Evening with Gusto
Following on from the success of our last two evenings, we have decided to host another evening of food and wine. This time the theme is the very fashionable ‘Sicily’. After an introductory aperativo (hopefully outside) with olives, you can enjoy a four course supper with a wine to accompany each course in our first floor caffe. All of the food will reflect the very versatile ingredients used in traditional Sicilian cuisine. Mark Perna of Astrum Wines will be joining us to host a wine tasting. Saturday 9th June - Montpellier Gardens Restoration Grand Opening
We are delighted to have been invited to cater for this event and hope you will support it. During the afternoon there will be a number of family events such as a Silver Band, hot air balloon rides and skateboard demonstrations. In the evening there will be an open air jazz concert. We will be serving our food, wines and beers throughout.
Hire a Hamper – Rent a Rug – Purchase a Picnic
We have a range of hampers available for Proms in the Park, Concerts, School Sports Day, School Speech Day, Family Outings, Romantic Lunches by the River or a lazy day in the Garden. Let us fill your hamper or have one of ours.
In addition we will soon have Gusto picnic rugs available for rent so you can buy your lunch and go and enjoy the recently re furbished gardens opposite the shop. If you just want to hire a hamper we will be happy to do this too. www.gusto-deli.com
We are currently working on our online ordering service and this facility should be ready to launch in the late summer.
Italian Lessons and Wine Tastings
We will soon be introducing Italian lessons in the evenings. The weekly lessons will include a glass of wine and tasting notes on each wine will be given. If you are interested please get in touch or email us.
New Products
Gelati!
We now have a range of real cream Italian Gelati served in tubs The ice cream, made by Albino, contains no preservatives or additives. The range also includes frozen yoghurts with fruit and sorbets.
Fresh Pasta!
Again, made with all natural ingredients, our new range of fresh pasta sells out daily. Try Tortelloni with Spinach and Ricotta or Ravioli with Fresh Rocket among many others. The 300g packs serve a generous portion for two. Our popular fresh tomato sauce available daily from the serve over counter is an ideal accompaniment. An easy and truly delicious supper!
Organic Fruit and Vegetables!
We have re-introduced a range of seasonal organic Italian fruit and vegetables currently including wild rocket, globe artichokes, vine tomatoes, aubergine, courgettes, Sicilian lemons and blood oranges.
Occasioni Speciali
Having launched our outside catering facility in Autumn of last year, we have been delighted with the response. Gusto has catered for drinks parties, dinners, private events in our caffe, weddings and many suppers to take home. If you would like us to quote for any events you may be hosting or business lunches, however small or large, we would be delighted.
