We hope that our Summer Newsletter finds you all safe, well and dry. The lack of water has certainly made running the shop and deli challenging. We have managed to keep the shop open and we are making coffee with mineral water! We have fresh salads every day and a wide range of fresh pasta, bread and pastries. We will endeavour to open the caffe and kitchen as soon as possible.
Italian Lessons
We are delighted to be hosting Italian lessons in our caffé. Lessons will begin on 5th September (Wed evenings) for six weeks. The lessons will include a wine tasting and Italian style canapé made by our chef Adriano. If you are interested please get in touch or email us, places are selling quickly and are limited to 12.
Gusto and Issimo
On Thursday 13th September as part of our late night shopping evenings we will be hosting a handbag and jewellery sale in conjunction with Issimo, a UK based company that works with a team of South African designers & crafters importing fair trade South African goods. There will be a wide range of bags and jewellery on sale to suit all tastes and Gusto will be providing wine and canapés. The shop will be open all evening. We do hope you will support this venture and 10% of sales will be donated to a local charity.
Exclusive to Gusto.
We are proud to be able to announce that 24 of the products sold in Gusto are exclusive to us in the UK. The rest of our products may only be found in a couple of other shops in the country. We are constantly striving to keep Gusto exclusive and are currently sourcing a number of exciting new products from small Italian producers.
In addition, we were delighted to hear that our fresh pasta won a Gold Medal at the Taste awards recently.
Wine by The Glass
Having our on sales license has meant a change to lunch at Gusto. When someone now orders their “usual” it quite often refers to our Pinot Grigio Rose! With the current water shortage we are glad that many people are keeping their fluid levels up with the help of our wine selection.
Wine Offer!
For the month of August, we are offering a 20% discount on all our wines (to take home).
Late Night Shopping on Thursdays!
Gusto will now be open until 8pm on Thursdays. This offers our customers the chance to have an aperitif and light bite or buy supper or groceries to take home. We do hope you will find this useful.
Sunday Opening
Due to customer demand Gusto will be opening on Sundays from 10am-4pm as soon as the water situation is resolved. As well as offering Sunday shopping we will also be serving an all-day Italian style brunch.
Occasioni Speciali
Having a dinner party and need someone to do the cooking? Let us come and cook for you at home. We now cater for all events large or small from drinks parties, children’s parties and weddings. Our new website will contain more information and sample menus otherwise please give us a call and we can discuss your needs over a coffee.
